Spring Ranch Rider Camp
- Recommended age 9+ years old.
- Three Full Days (Tues/Wed/Thurs), 9 am to 4 pm
- 2 Camps: March 26 – 28, 2024 and April 2 – 4, 2024
- Kids will expect to spend at 5 hours with and on their horse each day (more than any other camp)!
Level 1: Brand New to Horses or the Cautious Horse Rider
A relaxed 3 days of learning all about horses from the ground and in the saddle. Kids will learn correct horse terminology, be able to name the correct body parts and the tack their horse uses and why. We start riding in various controlled spaces to build confidence and trust between the horse and rider. When the group is ready, we will head out on trail rides and to check cows and look for calves! This is the slow, careful and controlled group.
Level 2: Strong Beginner / Intermediate Riders
Learning how to be a great rider is a life long learning journey. These 3 days offer a review, refinement and expansion on the horsemanship skills already built both on the ground and on the horse. We will work in the outdoor arena reviewing all the basics, working simple patterns in different gaits (much harder than it sounds!!). We will add in various gymkhana events that will challenge both the horse and the rider! We will also head out with our lunches packed and spend hours exploring our 400 acre trail system.
Cost $450 + GST
