Make-Up Lessons Policy: If classes are cancelled by HorsePlay, we will do our very best to offer a make-up class. If you miss a lesson for a personal reason we will try to fit you into another class within the current frame of time your lessons are in, but we cannot guarantee that a spot will be available.
- All participants must sign a waiver and fully understand that animals, wildlife, and the weather can be unpredictable.
- Animal endangerment or any type of abusive behaviour or class disruptions towards any animal or persons representing HorsePlay will not be tolerated and may forfeit your entire registration and fees.
- Our preferred method of payment is an e-transfer or cash (please make sure that you add a note to your transfer with the child’s name and the class/camp that you are paying for so that we match the correct registration to your payment), if you would like to pay by cheque, your spot in the class or camp will not be held until we receive your payment. There is a drop off for cheques in Okotoks, please contact us by email for the details.
- Should classes need to be cancelled for any reason, notification will be posted on the HorsePlay Facebook page and via email.
Code of Conduct
Here at the ranch we are very accepting of all children and adults, however it is necessary to state that everyone is expected to contribute to this atmosphere for it to remain a fun and safe place. All participants should be friendly, kind, patient and respectful at all times to other participants, wranglers, staff, other volunteers and to all the animals. Anyone who becomes disruptive or who intentionally diminishes the experience of another will be sent home. Expulsion can be for reasons of violence, theft, for intentionally damaging property, refusing to obey, the use of foul language or anything deemed inappropriate by staff.

- Participants shall be respectful of others.

Staff follow a 3 strike system for redirecting behaviour.
- Strike 1: The participant will be reminded of the behaviour guidelines and be redirected to the more appropriate behaviour.
If the behaviour persists, the participant will discuss the situation with a team lead or Instructor. - Strike 2: If the problem persists, the participant will be sent to speak to Kari Carr, ranch manager and HorsePlay owner/operator about the necessary changes to their behaviour. Discussions could result in the participant losing privileges or being removed from certain activities in order to maintain a healthy camp environment for their fellow participants.
- Strike 3: If the problem persists, the participant will be asked to leave.
❗There will be no refunds given for campers who are removed from the program due to violations of the Code of Conduct.
