Birthday Parties 🎉🎉

Birthday parties are based on a group of 6 children on 6 ponies (or horses dependent on age &/or weight).  We provide a Trail Boss and one wrangler and the party host must provide 4 capable guardians per group.

Following the ride, we give an additional hour for the party’s enjoyment to be spent in and around the ranch bunkhouses and gardens to eat, craft or play.  One wrangler is present to help supervise and answer any questions.

Other Details:

  • The bunkhouse has limited seating, however the outdoor bunkhouse garden has multiple tables and picnic tables to choose from.
  • Hosts are welcome to arrive 30 minutes prior to decorate the bunkhouse and can store gifts and food within, while out with the ponies.
  • Allow extra children, with an additional charge. Note that additional time may be required based on group size.
  • No feeding the ponies or horses, however you are welcome to share with the small animals, birds and wranglers.
  • Groups of 10 or more children will be organised into two groups.  What to do while one group is waiting for the other? …Incorporate a rustic ranch craft (see below for more details).

HOW TO BOOK YOUR EVENT?

Please send an email to horseplayranchadventures@gmail.com and be sure to include the approximate number of riders, average age of the group, along with a selection of dates so that we can easily book a day. Please decide if you would like a Ranch Adventure, Horse Wrangler or a Pony Party.

Once your party has been booked, you’ll need to download an ‘Acknowledgment & Release Form’ to include into your party invitations as each child will need a parent or guardian to complete and sign prior to participation.   See also purchase agreement page for additional details.

Ranch Adventure Birthday Party

(Recommended for kids ages 4-8)

$425 (Duration of approximately 2.5 hrs.) 1.5 hours with the ponies, 1 hour to party!

After matching kids to ponies/horses, kids will get to know their equine by grooming, helping to tack up before heading out for an adventure! Some of our favourite theme parties for birthday parties and special events are: Train Robberies, Super Hero Riders, a visit to see Dead Betsy (cow bones), scavenger hunt, and Bingo and Cowboy Tobogganing (if there is snow).

Pony Play Birthday Party

(Recommended for kids ages 2-4)

$375 (Duration of approximately 2 hrs.) 1 hour with the ponies, 1 hour to party!

After we match tiny humans to tiny ponies, kids will get time to brush and love on their pony, before we tack up, hop on and go for a beautiful walk in the tree pasture.  The kids will ride over easy obstacles, pause to pose on the step up rock, look for wildlife and some ‘fakelife’ in the trees!   Some of our favourite theme parties for birthday parties and special events are: Pony Decorating, Princess dress up (the Birthday girl gets to ride a unicorn), Butterfly Riders and Disney Character Riders.

Horse Wrangler Birthday Package

(Recommended for kids ages 9+)

$475 (Duration of approximately 2.5 hrs.) 1-1.5 hours in the arena/round pen, 1 hour to party!

After matching these big kids to their horse or pony, we will head to the arena to teach the kids how to wrangle!  They will do some team mounting and dismounting games, leading each other around to gain confidence and once they’re up to it, some riding relays.  If the children have previous riding experience, we will change up the games to make them more challenging!

Birthday Party ADD-ONS:

  • A rustic ranch craft class (based on 6 children): allow for an additional 45 min to an hour based on complexity of age appropriate craft.  We use organic craft components like horse hair, and barn-wood, and provide guidance and instruction.
  • Campfire can also be made available should you want to bring your own ‘roastables’ for an additional $50 (includes fire wood and a wrangler for supervision).
