Ranch Riders – Level 2
Eight Week Program
Recommended age 10+ (including adults)
This is an 8 week riding lesson program for those who are a strong beginner and want to continue to learn and be challenged.
Learning how to be a great rider is a life long learning journey. Level 2 offers a review and expansion on the horsemanship skills already built both on the ground and on the horse. We will work in the outdoor arena reviewing all the basics, and then we will add in various gymkhana events that will challenge both the horse and the rider. Since every good ranch rider needs to know how to work cattle, riders will get the chance to gently move cows and appreciate a working partnership.

Riding in a group is very enjoyable when working together to check cattle pens and pastures, count calves, and take longer trails each week while enjoying the wildlife, nature and ride over 500 acres. If we see a fence down, we will stop and fix it. If we see a cow out, we’ll push it back to the proper pasture. We help each other open gates and hold horses, attempt a few cowboy challenges, chase barrels and change paces and views!
If you or your child are not a previous student of HorsePlay, please do register, however you must first book an meet / greet / evaluation ride ($40) prior to your registration being approved.
This is a low pressure ranch riding program for those that love horses.
Cost: $495 for 8 weeks
