Ranch Riders – Level 2

This is where we create the STRONG ‘Intermediate rider’ that can trot and lope for miles, chase a barrel, and jump over logs!  Any age is welcome!

Are you one of the following?

  • You have a young 8 yr old who has taken any of our Ranch programs once, twice or three times already, is very much a dare-devil and wants to gallop and run up hills on a tireless unicorn.
  • You have been trail riding and putting on consistent miles, but your ready to be pushed a little outside of your comfort zone to smoothly transition between trotting and loping, and you also want to try the ‘hard’ obstacle challenges (like jumping logs) as well as try gymkhana events with a little more speed.
  • You are over the age of 9 and were in the Ranch Rider Junior class this past spring and want to continue learning.

If you answered yes to any of the above questions or camp out somewhere in between, love horses and want to continue to push yourself to become a more competent rider in a faster, playful setting, this is the group!

How we ride out:

Catch, tack up, and warm up in the arena at a walk, trot and lope.  Then we work on picking up the right leads and other technical skills that are needed before working on one gymkhana activity a week.  Regardless of whether we move our horses through a pattern at a trot or a lope or even a gallop, we always want to have clean runs.  Gymkhana activities include barrel racing, bole bending, key hole, stake race, flags and some relay races.   Also, if we need some efficient riders to help us move and sort cattle, this will be the group that does it!

Cost: $539 for 8 weeks
Total time :  1.25 hrs

Must have your own helmet, wear long pants, riding/cowboy boots and appropriate layers for the weather.

NOTE: In addition to sending us a registration please email HorsePlayRanchAdventures@gmail.com to book an evaluation if you have never been in a class with us before.  We like to meet with each NEW student, for safety reasons, before confirming a registration.  We also try to build groups with complimentary age groups when possible.  (wink, wink…. #MomGroups)
