Horse Play

(Thursday Eve)

This is a just a good old fashion horse play class for kids 5+ yrs old.

This 4 week series is a great introduction class to horses and was also designed for bigger kids who love horses but who might be a little overwhelmed by big animals and don’t necessarily want to get on them right away.

In this class your child can enjoy their equine friend at a comfortable pace, learning horsie basics such as how to brush and comb , pick up feet, and how to braid manes and tails.  Children will learn how to lead and walk their horses and master some obstacles with their equine friend, before they get on…learning from the ground up!

Once kids get comfortable in the saddle and with each other they will take each other for some fun little trail rides.

Some unique ranch crafts will also be incorporated along the way.

Class Dates: Aug 9, 16, 23 and 30 from 7 to 8 pm

Other information:

  • Please bring your child’s helmet (any type will do), wear long pants, either rubber boots or cowboy boots and appropriate layers for the weather.
  • Parents can drop and go, stay and watch or volunteer to help!

HorsePlay is based out of Big Rock Farms, a 120 year old family run ranch just SW of Okotoks.

  1. Hi, my son will be 5 Sept 5 and my daughter is 6. I would like to register both my kids for horseplay. If I stayed and helped my son, would you allow him to register even though he is not quite 5? Thanks
