Lucky Charms & A Leprechaun Hunt on Horseback
A family ranch event for ages 3 to 13.
****UPDATE: Due to a pair of Cougars that have been hanging out at the ranch we have decided for the safety reasons to cancel this event. Please do consider the Lucky Horseshoe event next Sunday. Thank you.
This is a fun family friendly event! You’ll want to schedule in about 2 hours of horse play as it includes both a pony ride scavenger hunt and then a craft making component.
Leprechaun Hunt: If you have horse experience, or you and your child have attended a previous HorsePlay session you are welcome to handle and lead your own pony for your child. Alternatively, one of our handlers will be happy to help you lead.
Once everyone has had a chance to get paired with a horse/pony and we’re saddled up and ready to go, a ranch guide will assist the group on the hunt around the ranch for treasures and leprechans!
Lucky Charms: Amanda from Cranberry Boutique will be helping children to build their own memorable charm ring that can be used as a zipper pull, backpack or key charm.
- All inclusive cost is $55
- Adults and babes under 2 years are free.
- Free Hot Chocolate
**Please bring your child’s helmet.

Hello,
I see at the top that the pony rides are for kids 3-13. At the bottom I see adults and children 2 and under are free. What about children 2-3?
Please let me know
Kathryn

Hi Kathryn,
Thank you for pointing that out. Our rule of thumb is that we won’t charge for your youngster if you can carry him or her on your back as you lead your pony who is carrying the child that you registered. If your child is between the age of 2 and 3 but you think he/she would be capable to hang on to the saddle then please do feel free to register that child for a pony. However, we don’t want any little kids toddling around on foot around the ponies for safety reasons. They are welcome to hang out around or in the barnyard area with a guardian while your out doing the pony ride scavenger hunt. Its a recommendation that this event is good for kids 3 to 13 however, my own daughter was loving her pony rides at 21 months.
Thanks,
Kari

Hello Kari,
Our daughter is a 28 month old singleton. I think she would be capable of hanging on to the saddle, but she sometimes lacks patience. What would happen if she very much wants to get off half way through the ride?

Hi Kathryn,
There are lots of routes and trails to take back to the barnyard, and there will be extra help along for this very reason. So you should be fine! 🙂

Hi Kathryn,
There are lots of routes and trails to take back to the barnyard, and there will be extra help along for this very reason. So you should be fine! 🙂 However there is lots to see and do, and candy to collect so I think she’ll be pretty engaged!
